Rajamahend-ravaram city in Andhra Pradesh, four elderly individuals died from severe renal (connected to the kidney or its function) failure after drinking adulterated milk. 12 individuals were ill after consuming adulterated milk from seller Addala Ganeswara Rao, who purchased milk from 46 dairy farmers and gave it to 106 households, according to officials. Three toddlers under the age of four are among the eight victims who are critically ill due to anuria (it is a medical emergency because waste products build up in the body when kidneys stop working properly). The seller has been arrested by the authorities, who have also sent cow fodder and blood samples from 73 impacted families for forensic analysis. Opposition politicians called for severe action on food safety violations, while the chief minister pledged ₹10 lakh in compensation for each grieving family.
