Japan to Deploy Missiles Near Taiwan by 2031

Shinjiro Koizumi Japan’s defense minister announced on Tuesday that the country’s government intends to place surface-to-air missiles on one of its isolated western islands close to Taiwan by March 2031. For the first time, Japan has said when the deployment will take place. There is already a Japanese military installation on the island.
