India records highest annual wind capacity addition

India reached its biggest annual wind capacity increase of 6.05 GW in FY26, surpassing the historic 5.5 GW capacity addition in FY 2016–17, according to a government release. The government stated that with this expansion, India’s total installed wind power capacity has surpassed 56 GW.
