Beijing Meeting Signals Renewed Cross-Strait Dialogue

In a meeting with Cheng Li-wun, the head of Taiwan’s opposition party, on Friday in Beijing, Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed his “complete confidence” that the Chinese and Taiwanese people will unify. Ms. Cheng, the chairman of the Kuomintang (KMT), is the party’s first leader to travel to China in ten years.
