Election commission Under Political Fire

Massive errors in voter lists, notably targeting minority and opposition-supporting voters, have allegedly been permitted by the Election Commission (EC). In addition to a provision for regional commissioners, Article 324 calls for an EC consisting of a CEC and other commissioners. The resolution against the CEC is unlikely to pass because the ruling alliance has a sizable majority in Parliament, despite the Opposition’s declaration that it will use democratic means to accomplish so.
