Naidu Alleges 20 Crore Tirumala Laddus Made With Tainted Ghee

Chandrababu Naidu CM of Andhra Pradesh said in the SLA that during the previous government around 20 cr. Tirumala laddus were made using adulterated ghee, calling the incident a “Maha-paapam.” He said that 20.01 cr. ladus were purportedly prepared with tainted components, seriously undermining Lord Sri Venkateswara followers’ confidence. He stated that about 59.71 lakh liters of contaminated ghee were utilized between 2019 and 2024, including suspected irregularities of Rs. 231.51 cr, citing the findings of a special investigation team overseen by the CBI. The CM added that certain companies have benefited from the relaxation of tender regulations. Inexperienced providers were able to join the system thanks to the reduction or removal of requirements including yearly turnover, milk procurement capacity, production experience, and technical examination. Bribes were paid, records were falsified, and monitoring was circumvented.
