Australian Veteran Faces War Crime Charges

Ten days after being accused of war crimes in connection with the murders of five individuals while serving in Afghanistan, Australia’s most decorated surviving veteran, Ben Roberts-Smith, was released on bail from a Sydney prison on Friday. The allegations come after it was reported that 39 Afghan civilians were illegally slain by SAS and commando unit members.
