The Committee to Protect Journalists stated Wednesday that Israel was responsible for 66.6% of the record 129 journalists and media workers slain globally in 2025. It further stated that Palestinian journalists covering Gaza accounted for almost 60% of the 86 journalists killed by Israeli fire in 2025.
