According to Minister Priyank Kharge, Karnataka has reached a significant milestone in grassroots governance, with 5,943 gram panchayats around the state reporting increased tax collection and income realization in 2025–2026. 1,382.57 crore in taxes were collected overall in the year 2025–2026, according to the Department of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj.
