China GDP Grows Five Percent Despite Conflict

Despite the international consequences from the US-Israel conflict, China’s GDP expanded by 5% in the first quarter of this year, surpassing forecasts. According to figures released on Thursday by China’s National Bureau of Statistics, the first three months of GDP generated 33.4 trillion yuan (about USD 4.87 trillion), a 0.5 percentage point increase over the fourth quarter of 2025.
